1977. Also a small fix to the
has been made. Thanks also to Ian Beard for kindly looking out and
scanning the Radio Times programme listing for the 1966 Grand Final. This
has just been added to the Media: Radio Times section and can be seen
Thursday 20th November 2008: First update in a
couple of rather busy months. Sorry for the breakdown in service, folks.
These sporadic updates will probably continue for the foreseeable future
due to professional commitments and other projects I currently have on the
boil, but rest assured, JSFnetGB is not going away... Thanks to Richard
Farnham for his kind email which has inspired me to catch up with the
site, and also for sending a Radio Times photocopy for the 1982
International Final, which has been added to the appropriate section -
see it here.
Thanks and a round of applause for his continued tenacity and dedication
to Neil Storer, who has updated the Series Guide once more, with
significant additions to
Smaller updates and fixes have been made to
1983-1987, in addition to the
Scoreboard pages for
Thanks Neil, and my apologies for not having transcribed them to the site
Thursday 11th September 2008: Thanks are due to Neil
Storer tonight, for supplying copious updates for the Series Guide and the
pages from 1969-1978 have received significant updates, with
a major overhaul. Cheers, Neil!
Friday 8th August 2008: Many thanks to Kevin
Fletcher, a competitor in the 1970 Margate team for getting in contact
with JSFnetGB and for a Margate team photo (Teams
1970) and the names of some of the team members (Series
Guide 1970). Thanks also to Neil Storer for providing the
games information for the Margate domestic heat.
Wednesday 6th August 2008: Neil Storer has kindly
sent some lovely scans of items of memorabilia from the 1979-1982 period
to be shared with JSFnetGB visitors and these can be found on the
following pages -
Tuesday 5th August 2008: The newly-located
section has now been further populated with team photos from

Saturday 26th July 2008: A nice update for the
1973 Series Guide
today, with games and full team squads added for Heat 4.
Monday 21st July 2008: Further to yesterday's
update, Paul has kindly sent me the result of the 1970 clash between
Ramsgate and Margate, which he meant to send me yesterday, but overlooked.
This means that the last outstanding result in the
domestic It's A Knockout series has been unearthed. A further
update tonight is a purely structural one: as I've long thought that the
'Team Photos' section was ill-placed within the Collectables area, I've
now moved it up a level, so it has its own section. This, like
Collectables, is a subsection of Features, now renamed Fil Rouge. Keep up!
Sunday 20th July 2008: Some great updates today from
Paul Leaver, who has researched some early It's A Knockout results
for the site. He has been able to add two new results for
(completing the IAK results for that year!), another for
three for 1970.
I can't stress just how important it is to the site that the Series Guide
continues to be updated and becomes nearer to the time when it is the most
comprehensive record available. It is the backbone of the site and it
gives me great pleasure that it continues to creep nearer and nearer to
being definitive. The help that Paul continues to give to this site, along
with that of others, like Neil, Christos, Mike, Brian and Richard, is
hugely, massively appreciated. Without you, people, JSFnetGB would be a
far poorer resource. Thank you all.
Wednesday 30th April 2008: Significant additions to
the Series Guide for
1978 today, courtesy of the industrious Neil Storer.
Updates to the page include details of team members, weather conditions,
games and behind-the-scenes information. Thanks, Neil!
Wednesday 16th April 2008: Today it's
gets a brush up from Neil Storer. Many thanks to Neil for his continued
hard work for the site.
Tuesday 15th April 2008: A big update regarding Heat
1 of It's A Knockout 1978 today, to add full squads to the
1978 Series Guide
listing and detail the games played. Thanks are due to our Greek
correspondent, Christos Moustakas for correcting a couple of details
relating to his country's teams and presenters in the
Guide pages. Additionally, Neil Storer has given
once over and made plenty of additions and corrections. Many thanks to
Neil and Christos!
Saturday 29th March 2008: Neil Storer has kindly
added some information to the Series Guide page for
Many thanks, Neil. Thanks also to Christos Moustakas for spotting an error
on our 1995
page - the theme for the International Final is now correct thanks to him.
Monday 24th March 2008: More updates from Neil
today, as the 1974
Series Guide gets a spruce-up! Thanks, Neil.
Sunday 23rd March 2008: I'm grateful to Neil Storer
who has supplied further updates to the
1973 Series Guide page today. More to
come over the next few days... Also added today, with thanks to Mauro
Tozzi for his help, a biography of Italian JSF presenter,
Monday 17th March 2008: A smattering of corrections
tonight, centring on the
1978 Series Guide and Scoreboard pages,
and references to the Belgian RTB and French A2F television channels from
1977 onwards. Thanks to Neil Storer for these. Thanks also to Christos
Moustakas for helpfully pointing out a translation error regarding the
Pula Amphitheatre venue used in 1981. Cheers.
Sunday 16th March 2008: After the explosion of
updates yesterday, today's are somewhat more sedate and restrained! A few
minor corrections to typos in the articles added yesterday (inevitable
when you consider that the pages were all being worked on overnight to
keep me awake for the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix!), plus revisions to
Series Guide and its accompanying
Scoreboard, again thanks to Neil
Saturday 15th March 2008: More fevered work on the
Series Guide today, with
1971 getting a thorough update which
contains several previously absent results added (for the first time
anywhere!) and copious notes and other additions.
also been added to. Additionally, the
1971 has been added today, and the Series Guide pages have
all been revised to include details of Silver Trophies awarded to Heat
Winners. All of this is courtesy of Neil Storer, who continues to be a
valuable contributor to JSFnetGB. Many thanks, Neil. Also added today --
phew! -- a
Sunderland team photo from 1981, plus three new (albeit
brief) biographies of Dutch presenters
and Dick Passchier
and an Other Flavours page for the Dutch domestic series,
Friday 14th March 2008: We are pleased to welcome a
new JSFnet website to our illustrious group -
JSFnetHUNGARY. The site's
webmaster, Haraszti Bernadett, made a great start - and I look forward to
seeing the Hungarian arm of our group flourish.
Thursday 13th March 2008: A couple of team photos of
the 1976 Morecambe squad added to
Wednesday 12th March 2008: Team colour information
has been revised tonight in the
Scoreboard section. Thanks to Neil
Storer for his assistance.
Tuesday 11th March 2008: Thanks to Robert Dee for
supplying German newspaper cuttings which have been added to the
Newspapers section for 1973 and which have provided some useful team
information for the 6th JSF heat of
1973 from Blankenberge, Belgium.
English translations of the articles coming soon.
Monday 10th March 2008: Another Series Guide update
today, hot on the heels of yesterday's revisions. Today we're
concentrating on the early days of the series, with plenty of new
information and corrections to the
pages, with grateful thanks to Neil Storer, who has also provided
information that has enabled me to add two pages to the
for the same years. Additionally, all JSF entries in the Series
Guide (1967-1999) now denote the teams which progressed to the
International Finals and also which teams went away with gold, silver and
bronze trophies from those finals. Cheers, Neil!
Sunday 9th March 2008: An important update to the
Series Guide today - plenty of fresh and updated information added to the
pages, care of Neil Storer. Due to the new information, the Scoreboard
pages for 1988
have also been revised. A new addition to the Collectables section comes
from Neil Harvey - a scan of the cover of the souvenir programme from
1975. Thanks also to Robert Dee for contacting us regarding
a couple of the items in the Collectables: Promotional section which he
had submitted to the site, but which we had incorrectly credited. Our sincere apologies - we are more than happy to correct any errors or
omissions on the site. Many thanks to Neil, Neil and Robert.
Sunday 17th February 2008: Antony Brown has kindly
contacted us following Friday's update to say that he has noticed that our
result for the first JSF heat of 1979 (from Ascona, Switzerland) was
slightly wrong. This has now been
updated. Many thanks, Antony.
Friday 15th February 2008: Many thanks to Neil
Harvey for contacting us at JSFnetGB to point out an inaccuracy on
our Series Guide: 1975 page. This affects Domestic Heats 6
(Southsea Castle) and 7 (Cambridge). Basically, our recording dates for
these two heats were erroneous, and our information regarding the venue of
the Cambridge heat has proved to be inaccurate, despite being from BBC
paperwork. Just goes to show that even the BBC can occasionally be proved
wrong - Neil's information is definitely unimpeachable and we hope to
present the proof in the coming days! We always welcome corrections and
additions - if you think we have something wrong, don't hesitate to let us
know. We are always grateful for such assistance. Also added tonight is a
1972 promotional item.
Sunday 27th January 2008: It's been a busy start to
the year, and unfortunately, JSFnetGB has been playing second
fiddle to my professional life, which has been going through a period of
upheaval. Nothing terrible - it's just taken a lot of my attention for a
while. A bit of catching up here today, with some additions to the
Collectables section that have been hanging around for some considerable
while! Take a look at the following pages for the new items:
All that remains now is for me to very belatedly wish all visitors and
contributors to JSFnetGB a very happy and enjoyable 2008!
