Additional Information

With the International Final being staged in Funchal on the island of Madeira, the Portuguese team from this heat, being from that location, almost became the first to appear in three consecutive International Finals - in addition to being the first to participate on home soil. However, the only thing that prevented them from doing so was the team of Açores and whilst each team had won their respective heats with 56 points, Açores had six 1st placings on games, compared to Madeira's five.
